With age, the skin of the neck loses elasticity, the fat layer becomes thinner, and the neck muscles become more pronounced. As a result, characteristic vertical lines appear on the front of the neck, often referred to as “turkey neck” bands.

Surgical correction of vertical neck wrinkles is specifically aimed at addressing these muscular folds. During the procedure, a small horizontal incision of about 4–5 cm is made under the chin. The separated neck muscles are brought together and secured in the center, which significantly reduces the appearance of vertical bands and creates a smoother, more refined neck contour. The incision is placed in a hidden area and closed with fine sutures, so the scar is usually barely noticeable.

It is important to note that this technique is designed specifically for correcting vertical neck bands. If there is skin laxity or horizontal wrinkles, additional procedures may be required. The optimal treatment plan is always determined individually after a consultation with a plastic surgeon.
